Starting situation:
Removable denture

The reason why I considered an implant at all is that I no longer wanted a removable denture in my mouth. What I had previously had was a so-called telescopic denture. This means that the prosthesis was mounted on the natural teeth that still existed in the lower jaw. After many years of use, the teeth were broken and had to be pulled. This is when I decided for an implant and had the Heraeus IQ:NECT® placed by my dentist. The implants are not removable, they have to be cared for just like my natural teeth - and I can bite with them the same as with my own teeth. I could even crack nuts with them. I'm pleased I decided for implants.

Starting situation:
Gaps in the incisor region

Back in 1997 I had both upper incisors broken off in a car crash. Since then I have had a bridge, which was mounted on the other teeth. After years of wear, this construction was replaced by Heraeus implants. I was amazed how fast the treatment was! In just one and a half hours the jaw was drilled under local anaesthetic and five implants were placed. The healing phase lasted half a year. Then the abutments for the implants were inserted and an impression taken in order to fabricate the ceramic crowns. The teeth were inserted very quickly. The crowns are solid. I can't take them out. It's as though I had my own real teeth back again. I can chew and bite as I please. And once again I can smile with ease.

Starting situation:
Bridge / large bite gap

I had a bridge in the right lower jaw that was just ruined after a very long period of use. The tooth underneath was so destroyed that the bridge had to be removed and the tooth root canal treated. The question was what should happen to the place where there was now a large gaping gap. After the bone tissue was examined, the decision was made for an implant. Then everything was very precisely measured and I went for dental surgery shortly afterwards. I felt everything proceeded very professionally and was not half as bad as I had imagined. Unfortunately, you can't avoid the drilling noises. I am pleased with my implant and once again I can bite firmly. I can only recommend it!

Starting situation:
Toothless jaw

As a result of early periodontitis, I had a removable denture previously. I found it very troublesome. I simply wanted something like my own teeth. Implants are the only solution. The treatment for placing the Heraeus implants took around an hour and a half and was performed under local anaesthetic. Of course, I thought about it a lot prior to the operation. But it went off much better than I had expected. Having your own, healthy teeth is worth a lot. But if you need dentures, the best option is implants. I'm no longer aware that my teeth aren't natural - either when chewing or as far as appearance is concerned. The implants have restored my quality of life enormously!
